I watched James Hoffman's video on cloth coffee filters & in it he mentions that Cafiza expresso machine cleaning powder from Urnex works to really re-fresh a well-used cloth filter. I bought the 125g container from French Press Coffee because they were one of the only places I could find the smaller size powder on its own, and it really works!! I dissolved a teaspoon of powder into about 14oz of warm water, then placed a very coffee-stained cloth filter into to solution overnight. I couldn't believe how well it removed the staining (I guess I'd forgotten how light in color the filter had been originally, and almost felt gross for the color I'd let it become!) I tried soaking another filter that was just as stained in a solution of 1.5 teaspoons to the same amount of liquid overnight, and it was even more visibly clean that the first test. You have to rinse the life out of the filters after taking them out of the solution and I boiled them in filtered water for 5 mins to really sanitize them/feel like the cleaning solution was fully removed, and have now noticed a whole new life to the cloth filters since I've been brewing with them again! An incredible way to extend the life of your cloth filters.

Dear Michaela! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com
