I purchased this (along with the ring burr) for my Baratza Encore because it was taking an excruciatingly long time to grind beans. The install was easy and it solved the problem right away. This is my second purchase from French Press Coffee and delivery and communication has been excellent.

Thanks for the feedback!

Great deal

Great price for spear conical burr, fast delivery. The installation video is available, which helps the replacement procedure. I wish I would order a burr holder with the burr as well.

Thanks for the review! We're glad you're happy with your purchase.

Baratza M3 conical burr for Encore grinder

I mainly bought the M3 conical grinding burr since I had a ring burr assembly I bought last year as a 'just in case' situation. After watching the video comparing the M3 (standard for the Encore) and the M2 *standard for the Virtuoso). Since I pretty much use my Encore for french press brewing I don't really need the sharper knife edge on the burr to get more uniform fine grind for espresso. I have a Eureka grinder for that. Since the burr is supposed to last for 500lbs of ground coffee and I use a pretty course grind on setting 3. I grind about 10 lbs of beans every 2 weeks and I've had my Encore for about 10 years. So 500/10lbs =50 times 2 weeks is 100 weeks which works out to 1.dz years. However I saw another tech post recently from Baratza that said the burrs should last at least 10 years. In another review about Grindz cleaning tablets, I am getting a very clean consistency in the ground pellets and very little dust with Grindz. So as long as the Grindz pellets stay uniform and little dust, I can use that as a diagnostic for replacing the burrs when they no longer provide consistent ground cleaning tables... I went with the M3 as a stock replacement, but it be another 8 years or so until then. I'll update this then...if me and French Press are still on this earth.

Dear Sam! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

Working great

Replacing the bottom burr was a bit involved but the online directions I found on the Baratza website were very clear. Job done and our Encore coffee grinder now is running like new.

Worth the effort

The cone burr M3 has quieted my grinder and increased the grinding speed. It took some work to install it but it was well worth it. I found a broken motor mount and was able to super glue it back together. I bought this grinder for espresso but after one week of use something happened internally and it wouldn’t grind coffee fine enough for espresso. So now it is only used for drip grind coffe and it works great for that.

Good grinder with easy DIY repairs. But still slow and loud

I changed out the M3 Burr in my Baratza Encore. The directions were extremely clear and the entire exercise took me under 30 minutes. Note that you do NOT need the special tool that looks like some sort of square driver. Note also that there are a fair number of washers and gaskets to keep track of. They sort of let you discover them yourself. So pay attention!!

Everything works well. Very uniform coffee grounds. But its still pretty slow. And LOUD!

Effective replacement for Solis Maestro burr

I have a many-decades-old Solis Maestro that had worn burrs. Maestro replacement burrs per se are no longer available, but this worked just fine!

New Burrs

What a difference. Between 1.5 years of daily grinding and an older M2 burr, what a difference the new M3 burr grinder made.
