I was surprised by the improvement in coffee grounds filtering as I didn’t think my used daily, one year old, original filter was in that bad of shape. Based on these results, I just added a reminder to my phone to order replacements from French Press on a 9 month rotation.

Hey, if you're going to buy a replacement for the Bodum French Press Replacement Screen, go to their Bodum Web Site, where you'll get original equipment manufactured parts made in Portugal, not China! The parts are particularly better made -- we bought both to compare -- and the price is roughly the same. Also customer service from Bodum was really quick and professional, and informed. You can replace it if you don't want or like it, and they helped me with measuring and fitting the plunger parts. GO FOR IT HERE!!!

Bought the 4" bodum filter from French Press and it was $3 cheaper than on Amazon. I watched the French Press Assembly and Filter Screen Replacement youtube from Brian and it gave me an idea or two. This filter replacement is for the 'original' one that came with the Bodum Chambord about 10 years ago. I love my Chamborn and it has been consistent and faithful. Over the years I would use the kitchen sink spray on hot water to flush the filter and would maybe take it apart every 6-9 months and use a tooth brush to clean it. So one of the ideas I had was to use Cafiza to clean the filter. So I put a scoop in a pyrex pan and 2 cups of hot water and stirred it up a bit, then I put the filter in for about 45 minutes. You'll see the amazing results below in the pics with a new filter on the left and the grungy 'original' before and after Cafiza soak on the right...I can't stress that enough. *Spoiler* I ended up using the original filter and have a backup. not sure if I'll ever need it. lol. The 2nd idea came from the youtube vid. and that was to flatten out the edges a bit around the spring to get a better seal. I've brewed about 12 1L batches and it works like new. Anyway kudos to Bodum and French Press. I'm loving it. And don't forget to tip the French Press folks when you check out. Saving $3 instead of buying it for 11.99 at Amazon or close to it is a testament to French Press and their commitment to providing high quality caffeine addict supplies.

I can really tell the difference with a new screen. It's crazy that I waited so long to get a new one. When I called he was very helpful to make sure I was ordering the right size. It didn't take long at all to receive it. I would highly recommend your company for your coffee products. Now I know where to order another one when I need it. At last no coffee grounds in my cup.!!!!
