Brew Grit-Free, Rich yet Smooth Coffee with Espro

    • 2016 BEST NEW PRODUCT WINNER - Espro Press P5 was named the Best New Piece of Consumer Equipment (non-electrical) 2016 by Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and WorldTeaExpo 2016 new Product Award winner.
    • THICK & DURABLE GLASS - Beautifully crafted glass carafe made from German Schott-Duran glass that is 40 percent thicker than French Press carafe glass.
    • ESPRO's PATENTED FILTER - Choice between a double Coffee micro-filter (french press coffee) or paper filter. Mesh filters provide French Press-style coffee and paper filters give you delicious pour-over or drip style coffee with reduced cholesterol levels (paper filters absorb coffee oils). Double-tea microfilter automatically sweeps tea leaves into an isolated chamber when done brewing.
    • FREE BONUS - Beautiful 8.5" long handmade wooden stirring spoon. The Espro Press P5 also makes a great gift that keeps on giving. Included with your purchase of this French Press Coffee Maker is the perfect, free accompaniment--a beautifully crafted wooden spoon.
    • P5 Unique Feature: Safety Lock™ completely secures the glass carafe inside the cage The Espro's patent-pending Safety Lock™ keeps the glass carafe safely inside the stainless steel cage; no slippage while pouring. It is a cut above the old, option-less, delicate french press models of the past.
    • The Espro Press P5 (with Thick & Durable SCHOTT Duran glass) is safer and easier to use than any other French Press Coffee Maker. Espro Replacement Glass Carafe for Espro P3, P5 made in the Schott-Duran factory in Germany, with very high standards and strict quality controls.
    • The Espro P5 Glass Press offers a never before designed unique coffee plunger feature -- a superior filtering system with not one but two micro-filters. These filters will allow you to brew the perfect cup of coffee or tea. Image a cup of coffee brewed to your very own specifications, no more unwanted grit. Well designed Espro's Patented dual mocro-filters which are easy to use and allow you to brew your coffee without fear of grit ruining your favorite morning ritual. The Espro P5 delivers the best cup of tea available; the filters push the tea leaves downward into a closed, isolated compartment; brewing stops automatically.

Espro P5 French Press - Open box discount

I love using my Bodum Chambord but wanted to increase my arsenal of coffee making artillery. I saw the Espro P5 as an open-box and saved $20...so that was pretty cool. And I liked the two-filter design since I do get a bit of sludge. After I make a batch of French Press, I use an old gold filter from a defunct electric coffee maker with a stainless steel funnel to fill up an Aladdin thermos that I've had for about 42 years or so and it works great. Anyway upon inspection I noticed a very slight coffee dust on the bottom of the bottom screen assembly. Not a big deal and I saved $20. I'm still dialing in the grind and timing but each batch keeps getting better and better. I also like the dual screen that is also used for tea and am thinking about all the Chai I might make this spring and summer. so that was pretty good too. I saw some of the posts that said it didn't press out all the water and it was hard to retrieve the used grounds. I typically throw the grounds outside since I treat my yard like a giant compost pile. As far as retaining the grounds, why not use a use a metal colander or a large screen strainer basked, put about a cup of water in the carafe, stir up the used grounds, and pour it through the strainer basket As far as the retaining water, the plunger does go all the way to the bottom, but there is about 1 oz or so coffee under the bottom basket. And for me, that last 1 oz is where the majority of the sludge is. Now as much as I like Cowboy coffee over an open fire, I don't really like chewing on the grounds that much. So giving up an ounce or so isn't that big of a deal. Now for the daily cleaning, after I dump the grounds and and use the kitchen sprayer on the screens, I put a drop of dish soap with warm water about 3/4 full. I put the plunger assembly and press down slow but pull back up a little quicker...which should be the reverse way it filters. I do that 8-10 times then rinse off out the French Press, screens, and let them air dry. mine is pretty new so I haven't had any issues with the filter screens. I plan to soak those in a Cafiza soak but I'm not sure of the frequency yet. Maybe every month or three...need to see how they perform over time. Oh...and did I say I saved $20 on an open box item? lol

    Filters fall apart easily

The filters fall apart. We've already had to replace them twice. They are poorly designed.

    Espro P5

Fast delivery and truly makes the smoothest coffee from the first time I used it. Being able to use the filters is a plus that other French presses do not offer as it has been proven to reduce cholesterol from coffee chemicals.

great filtering, wastes some coffee, can't easily save coffee grounds

We had previously been using a press with the filter that appears in the classic Bodum press. Certainly the last bit of coffee was muddy. The Espro press does a fabulous job at removing all the coffee ground bits so SUPER! However, the stainless steel post on which the top and filtering basket is attached appears to be about 1/2 inch or so too short. When you press the filtering basket through the coffee, it stops with about 1/2 inch of space or more above the liquid coffee; this means there are several ounces of good coffee stuck underneath the basket with no way of retrieving it. We estimate we throw away a half a cup of coffee every time we make a pot. It also makes it very difficult to save the grounds for gardening because it is a sloshy mess at the bottom of the press. We tried removing the lid and just used the stainless steel post to push the filter further down into the pot--that allowed us to retrieve some, but there was still quite a bit of liquid trapped under the basket.

I am getting use to and having fun with my ESPRO P5

Adjusting grind size, brew times and bean types. Using the ESPRO P5 is so much fun. I will hit the sweet spot with my ESPRO P5 in no time. ESPRO is one of the best FrenchPress machines to have. Not disappointed in the least.

Got my order today...Not wasting any minute to brew my first cup if coffee from the P5...Yes quality was great...The filter works great coffee not muddy of grits as mentioned by others... the filter was easy to push down....HOWEVER....facing great difficulty trying to pull up the filter to clean the cup...the silicon rubber seal along the edge of the filter is really sticky causing great deal of friction ....Not my first French press but first espro....coffee brewed taste good and clear of grits no doubt.....but super super super difficult to get filter out....

    Best press

I got this press for my husband and he loves it. Best press we have had, it leaves next to no grounds in your cup even without disposable filters, which is what we were looking for. I love the design and the lock for the carafe to keep it from slipping out as you pour.
