The Fellow Ode Brew Grinder is the quality you’d expect from your favorite local coffee shop, right on your kitchen countertop.

This grinder is not only the sleekest, cleanest-looking grinder you’ll find on the market, but it’s the perfect tool for your at-home medium to coarse grinding needs.

The Ode Brew Grinder’s cafe-quality precision with its relatively lower price point is almost...too good to be true. But it isn’t! This grinder was designed with all of your at-home “brew” methods in mind, such as a drip brewer, cold brew, or french press. Although you can still yield a fine grind for an espresso machine, the Ode really shines in the medium to coarse arena.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Ode grinder is that it is most likely one of the most aesthetically pleasing at-home grinders you’ve ever seen. It’s sleek, minimalistic matte black body would glow on any kitchen countertop. Fellow is not only one of the leaders in product function, but in the design aesthetic of their products as well.

You’ll discover many different aspects of this grinder that make your at-home coffee experience as simple and precise as possible. For example, you can adjust your grind setting with just a turn of the knob. You’ll find numbers 1-11, with two notches in between each knob number. Other star features include the built-in, removable grounds catcher that comes with a lid for storage, the grinds knocker, a quiet, PID motor, and 64 mm flat burrs.

    Fellow Ode Brew Grinder Features:

    Making coffee precise

The Fellow Ode Brew Grinder has cafe-style precision at an at-home price. Many home grinders that you see on the market are made with conical (or cone-shaped) burrs. The Ode however, is made with 64mm flat burrs, which yield accuracy without the friction and loud noise of many other home grinders.

The Ode is also built with what is called a PID motor, which allows for high-quality, fast, and quiet grinding.

    Making coffee easy

Fellow is making our at-home coffee brewing experience even easier with the Ode Grinder. For one, the process for adjusting your grind setting couldn’t get any simpler. You simply follow the marks (labeled 1-11) and turn the knob for your desired setting, with 1 being the finest and 11 being the coarsest. Although you can use the Ode for finer grinds like espresso or Aeropress, we recommend using it for “brew” methods like a V60, French Press, Drip, or cold brew. These medium to coarse grind settings is what the Ode was designed to do, and these types of brewing is where it excels.

The Ode also comes with a single dose loading feature. Fellow as a company does not believe in storing coffee beans in the hopper, because exposure to oxygen and light can remove their freshness faster. To preserve the quality of the beans, the Fellow Ode comes with a single dose feature to avoid the storage of beans in the grinder.

And finally, the auto stop feature for when the grider is out of beans, which allows you to multitask while preparing your favorite coffee!

    Making coffee clean

Not many at-home coffee grinders come with a grinds knocker, although you’ll almost always see them on industrial size grinders. The Fellow Ode breaks stereotypes and brings you a grind knocker right to your countertops. When the Ode is done grinding your beans, just press down on the knocker to remove the excess coffee grounds, instead of letting them spill out onto the counter.

The Ode also comes with a magnetic catch bin. This too comes in matte black to match the rest of the grinder body, so you won’t be sacrificing any of the aesthetic! The bin locks into place with the magnetic strip, and then is removed easily when you’re done grinding your coffee.

    Fabulous grinder!

Great experience ordering from French Press Coffee! Plenty of shipping updates and grinder arrived in a timely manner. The Fellow Grinder itself is amazing and makes consistent grinds for every brew method I've tried so far (Moka Pot, Chemex, Cold Brew). Be mindful of the instructions when first using this grinder as it states to wait until you've ground 10lb of beans before adjusting grind size to the smallest setting (no. 1). I've noticed a considerable difference and improvement in the taste of my coffee going from hand grinding to this gem. It's very quiet too compared to others. I've used it several mornings now at 5am without the high-pitched shrill other grinders produce. Highly recommend!

Dear Shaman! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

aa good as all the reviews i’ve read

this grinder is fantastic. i haven’t run 5lbs of beans thru it yet, so it’s not quite broken in, but the quality/consistency of grinds is phenomenal! i wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this grinder again if i needed one.

Dear Shao-Fei Moy! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

Super quiet and beautiful coffee grinder

I'm impressed and frankly shocked how quiet the grinder is! I'm a very early riser and love that making coffee won't wake anyone up. I also love the auto off feature once the coffee is grinding. I multi task making coffee in the morning and this feature makes it super easy! This claims to be mess free and frankly, it's a coffee grinder, there's no way there won't be small bits scattered. It's less messy than some cheaper grinders and that works for me. I think at the end of the day, for the price you're paying for design and aesthetic (which is what I personally wanted), because there are less expensive but of equal quality coffee grinders out there.

Dear Jaclyn! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

    Knocker does not really work

I love this grinder, but the one thing I am confused about is the knocker. Is it not supposed to remove all the coffee from whatever is left? Whenever, I use it and I run the grinder again, a good amount of coffee still comes out. Maybe I am doing it the wrong way?

Other that that, it works great!

    Carsten

Dear Carsten! Try to Knock few times. That should be sufficient. Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

    Great grinder but...

Was replacing a tired old Baratza Encore. We typically grind about 80g (the max for the hopper) of beans twice a day of Peet's House Blend (very oily beans).

    Pros:
    - It is very fast.
    - The reviews say it is 10dB less noisy than the Encore but it seems much quieter
    - It feels nice. The grind dial is very satisfying to turn.
    - The little magnet for the grounds catcher is nice.
    - The grind is really nice and the coffee tastes a little better.

Cons: (Kind of nitpicky but I did pay $300 for a coffee grinder..)
    - We basically have to shepherd the beans into the grinder. use your fingers to poke the beans into the grinder so it doesn't auto-shutoff.
    * It's not what I expected from watching videos and reading some reviews. It does grind so fast that it's not that big of a deal.
    - The lever to clear the grinder after a grind needs to be hit like 5 times to get rid of all the grinds and you have no clue when you are done. I just hit the lever like a rat in a lab experiment.
    - The auto shut-off is too fast. Thus I have to babysit the grind.
    - I'm surprised that I am still sweeping up grounds with the cool container and magnet.
    - I emailed Fellow to ask if I was doing something wrong and they never replied.

Dear Tanner! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com
